Do I need to enter a detailed description at the image testing stage?Do I need to upload a user manual? If I need to make modifications, are there any examples to use for reference?

You can fill in the detailed description at the testing stage, but you can also fill it in after the image has been successfully tested. It is up to the service provider to decide whether to upload a user manual, but as a general principle, the more detailed your product documentation is, the better. For more information about entering and modifying detailed product information, see products already published on Azure Marketplace. For specific standards, see the “VM form content standards” section in Guide to publishing virtual machine images on Azure Marketplace.

What is Azure Resource Manager?

For information about Resource Manager, see the official Azure Resource Manager overview document.

When I publish an image, can I select multiple images for one product? This is because I need a combination of images.

You cannot select multiple images, but you can solve this problem by using Azure Resource Manager. Resource Manager can group together multiple VM images and other resources so that they can be published on Azure Marketplace and deployed to Azure with a single touch.

If we want to update a Resource Manager template, do we need to republish an app, or can we use the “Publish new version” function in the old app management interface?

You can use the “Publish new version” function.Note that the URL of the new version of the Resource Manager template must be different from that of the original version. Otherwise, the new version will be invalid.

When you are developing Resource Manager templates or images, you must perform testing before you officially publish or update the template or image. You usually publish a test version first using the “publish new app” method, and then publish the official version after the template or image has passed the tests. How can I resolve the issue of managing multiple testing and official versions?

It is not necessary to separate test versions and official versions. After you have published a Resource Manager template or image and successfully tested it, you need to select Apply to put up and wait for an administrator to review the template or image before it is officially published. You don’t usually need to do any special management for test versions and official versions.

How can you tell whether an image is a Resource Manager template or an image?

The Platform field for all images displays ARM, and you can find all Resource Manager templates by searching for ARM on the Azure Marketplace page.

When I publish to Azure Marketplace, can I post the image’s VHD address or Resource Manager template URL outside Azure?

Image VHD addresses must be posted on Azure. Resource Manager template URLs can be posted outside Azure (on GitHub, for example).
