Register for a standard Pay-in advance (PIA) Azure subscription

You can purchase a standard Pay-in-advance (PIA) subscription online to start using Azure China services.This article explains how to register for a standard Pay-in advance (PIA) subscription. Before you begin the registration process, you need to have the following items:

  • A mobile phone number within the Mainland China region.
  • A People’s Republic of China Citizen’s ID Card or a Business License for an enterprise registered with the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC).
  • Pay via Alipay, debit or credit card bearing the UnionPay logo, or remittance from a bank account by wire transfer.

Registration process for standard Pay-in-advance (PIA) subscriptions

  1. On the Azure China website, at the top right, select I want to purchase.

  2. Go to the ** Azure Standard Pay-in-advance (PIA) application form** page, select either a personal account or a business account, as required, and then enter your mobile phone number for verification.

  3. Enter the real name verification details for the application type that you selected.

  4. The system will verify your real name details online in real time.After you’ve verified your real name, you are taken to the registration page. Enter your personal information, create the domain name details, and then select Check availability.After you have confirmed that the domain name is available, add your user name and password details, repeat the mobile phone authentication process, and then select Continue.

  5. You will be taken to the account login page.Sign in to the account with the user name and password that you set up in the preceding step, and then remit your payment.

  6. Go to the payment page, select Alipay, UnionPay Online Payment, or Wire Transfer, enter the top-up amount, and then select Purchase.

    The minimum amount for online payments (including Alipay and UnionPay) is 1,000 RMB, and the minimum amount for wire transfers is 5,000 RMB. See Information about wire transfers for details of the wire transfer process.You can change the payment method as required every time you top up.

  7. After the payment is made, the system automatically takes you to the Azure account management page, where you can view the available usage balance and the number of remaining days of service.If you select payment by wire transfer, you will be notified by email when the system has successfully topped up your balance.
