Understand monthly usage reports
After you start using Azure services, the system charges fees and deducts funds based on your actual usage.For more information about charges, see Azure Pricing for information on charges. To find out about charge estimates, use the Pricing Calculator. Alternatively, to view your usage and fee details, you can download the monthly usage report.

This article applies only to customers who have purchased a subscription online. If you have signed an Enterprise Agreement and want to know more about the information in your usage reports, see theUnderstand monthly usage reports article for Enterprise Agreement customers.
Subscriptions that are purchased online are charged monthly.The charges are calculated from your subscription’s first top-up date. For example, if you topped up for the first time on November 19, the monthly usage billing period for your subscription runs from the 19th day of the current month to the 18th day of the following month.
Monthly usage reports are presented in Excel format. The tables have three sections:
- Report details about subscription ,billing period
- Monthly summary per service used
- Daily detailed usage per service
The terms that are used in the “Monthly summary per service used” section, and their explanations, are listed in the following table:
| Term | Explanation |

| Billing period | The billing start date. |
| Name | The generic name of the product. |
| Type | The type or specification of the product. |
| Resource/unit | The billing unit for a service (for example, GB, hours, 10,000 seconds). |
| Region | The data center location that is used by the service. |
| SKU | The unique system identifier for the service. |
| Consumed | The amount of usage for the service. |
| Included | The amount of service usage that is included for free in the current billing cycle. |
| Billable | The total amount of service usage that must be charged for (the “consumed” amount minus the “included” amount equals the “billable” amount). |
| Currency | The currency that is used for your current billing period. |
| Value | The charges that are generated by the product during the billing period for the current bill.If the consumed amount does not exceed the "included" usage amount, no charges are listed in this section. |
In the following monthly usage report, using the “Data Transfer In (GB)” service as an example, the total data transfer for the month is 22.2703 GB. The total charge generated is RMB 0.00 due to the included 50GB benefit Data Transfer usage.
The terms that are used in the “Daily detailed usage per service” section, and their explanations, are listed in the following table:

| Sub Region | The data center location that is used by the service. |
